Café News

Dishwasher Fund

We have started some fundraising, separate from the usual café takings, in order to raise £600 for a professional catering size dishwasher. We started the fundraising this week by selling ice lollies in the front playground after school. These will be available on sunny days (excepting Fridays which is Class 8 pizza sales) and cost 40p per lolly.

So far we have raised £80 and refreshed a number of hot thirsty schoolchildren!

Take Away Picnics

We now have take away picnics for sale . Pop up to the café on the days we are open and give us your order and we will pack up a picnic in a sturdy jute bag (£2 deposit redeemed on return of the bag). In your picnic you will find a sandwich with choice of filling, a choice of fruit, an organic cereal bar, a box of organic raisins, a packet of salt n shake crisps and a choice of juice drink or water. Kids picnic £2.  Adult picnic £3.

Bin Looking for Something To Do?

We still need someone to put out the bins on a regular basis. It only takes a few minutes and your help would be much appreciated. Please contact the office.

Open Eye Campaign for Early Years Education

Further to the article in last week's newsletter, it seems that there is now a real opportunity to influence the impact on our school and the Early Years Foundation Stage legislation (EYFS). A government Select Committee will be hearing the concerns over some aspects of the legislation, e.g. the prescriptive use of phonics, from the Open EYE campaign and other concerned groups. We can contribute by writing to: The Committee Secretary, Susan Ramsay at csfcom@parliament.uk by Tuesday 20th May. The Committee hearing is on the morning of 21st May. If you want to chat about this further, please call Angela Harpa on 423058. Thanks for your help.

Spring Fair

It is the Spring Fair this Saturday - don't forget to bring your friends and neighbours too.

The Fair starts at 11am, but was unfortunately advertised in 'LocalLink' as starting at 10.  In case people turn up early, the Continental Cafe and Children's Activities will be open from 10 this year.

See you there!
